About the Role
Our client, a leading organization within the Manufacturing & Production sector, is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their essential team in Sheffield . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all production machinery and facility equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and a dedication to maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment according to schedule.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in production machinery, minimizing downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs.
- Install, test, and commission new equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including experience with fault finding and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and best practices.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to repairs.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in mechanical or electrical maintenance are a plus.
