Maintenance Technician ( Part Time / Temporary)
£16.92 per hour (PAYE) | East London | Student Accommodation
We're looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to support a busy student accommodation site in East London. This ongoing temporary role is focused on building safety, compliance and day-to-day facilities maintenance.
Key Details
Start: ASAP
Schedule: 2 days per week between Monday-Friday
Hours: 9am-5pm (15 hours per week)
Pay: £16.92 per hour (PAYE)
Role Overview
You'll carry out a blend of reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure the building remains safe, compliant and ready for residents.
Duties include:
- General maintenance repairs - routine fault finding and minor repairs
- PPM duties - fire alarm tests, lift inspections, plant room checks, emergency lighting inspections, critical equipment checks and external property inspections
- Health & Safety compliance - ensuring safe working practices and accurate record-keeping
What You’ll Need
- Proven building maintenance experience
- City & Guilds or equivalent
- Strong Health & Safety awareness
- Experience with PPM routines
- Ability to work independently
- Clear communication and customer focus
