Major Donor Fundraiser

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Major Donor Fundraiser to join their ambitious team in Portsmouth . This senior role is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth individuals, securing significant philanthropic gifts that will underpin the charity's strategic objectives. You will develop tailored cultivation plans, identify new prospects, and work closely with senior leadership to engage potential major donors. This is a critical position for someone passionate about philanthropy and capable of building deep, meaningful relationships to drive substantial support for important causes.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and cultivate prospective major donors .
• Develop and implement strategic cultivation and solicitation plans for a portfolio of major donors.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key individuals and their advisors.
• Organise and host high-level cultivation events and meetings.
• Work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to engage them in fundraising efforts.
• Track donor interactions, contributions, and progress towards goals in the CRM system.

Requirements

• Proven track record in major donor fundraising or development, with a history of securing substantial gifts.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and influence high-net-worth individuals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and philanthropic foundations.
• A deep understanding of and commitment to the charitable sector in Portsmouth .
