Management Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis for a well-established and growing £12m manufacturing business in Barnsley. The company looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant to take ownership of the site's financial reporting and play a key role in supporting operational and commercial performance.

This is a broad and commercially focused Management Accountant position, offering genuine ownership of the site's finance function and close interaction with the operational team. You will take ownership of the P&L, produce the monthly management accounts and provide meaningful financial insight to operational stakeholders. A key part of the role will be challenging performance, analysing variances and helping the manufacturing team understand the financial impact of their decisions. You will also lead a small team of two and be responsible for reporting the site's financial performance through to Group Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts
• Full ownership of the site P&L
• Detailed variance analysis and insightful commentary
• Business partnering with operational and manufacturing stakeholders
• Providing financial challenge around performance and results
• Overseeing financial transactions and maintaining strong financial controls
• Reporting financial performance to Group Head Office
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting
• Leading and developing a small finance team of two
• Working closely with operational teams to identify opportunities to improve profitability and performance
• Supporting wider commercial and operational decision-making

About You:-

They are looking for a confident, commercially minded Management Accountant who enjoys being close to the operation and isn't afraid to challenge the numbers.

Manufacturing experience is essential, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You'll need to be comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders, explaining financial performance and providing constructive challenge.

They are open to both fully qualified accountants (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or strong QBE candidates with the right level of experience.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous, particularly for someone who enjoys developing others and taking ownership of a finance function.
