Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to join their expanding team in Cardiff . This role is essential for providing crucial financial insights that guide business strategy and operational decisions. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, alongside performing detailed financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, enabling them to effectively present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders, and contribute to the ongoing success and efficiency of the company, operating in a supportive and forward-thinking work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and prepare regular financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, investigating and explaining variances.
• Provide financial support and analysis to various departments to aid in decision-making.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
• Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and reporting as required by senior management.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or fully qualified in a professional accounting body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
• Demonstrable experience in a management accounting role.
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modelling.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Oracle) is essential.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
