About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to play a key role in their finance department based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for providing insightful management information that drives business performance and strategic planning. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and developing management reports to support operational decision-making. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills, keen to contribute to the financial health and efficiency of the organisation within a busy, office-based team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, investigating and reporting on discrepancies.
- Create insightful management reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required by management.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or newly qualified Management Accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Proven experience in a management accounting role, with a strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modelling.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance personnel.
