About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Management Accountant to join their growing team in Cardiff . This role will focus on providing essential management information to support operational decision-making and strategic planning. You will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and developing management reports that highlight key performance indicators across the business. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of business operations, contributing valuable insights to the finance function in Wales .
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and forecasts, working closely with budget holders across the organisation.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying key drivers of variance.
- Develop and maintain management reporting packs, dashboards, and KPIs to support business performance monitoring.
- Assist in the implementation of new financial systems or processes to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Provide financial support and analysis for ad-hoc projects and business initiatives.
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) with a strong background in management accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant accounting role.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data modeling.
- Experience with financial systems and ERP software is essential.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment in Cardiff .
