Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to join their finance department in Oxford . This role is essential for providing timely and accurate financial information that supports strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for preparing management accounts, analysing variances, and contributing to the budgeting and forecasting process. The position offers a hybrid working model, combining the benefits of collaborative office-based work with the flexibility of remote working.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct variance analysis against budget and forecast, providing insightful commentary and recommendations.
• Support the development and maintenance of financial models for forecasting and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with department managers to understand financial performance and provide support.
• Assist in improving financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities in Oxford .

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent, with at least 3 years of management accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
