Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and analytical Management Accountant to become an integral part of their finance department based in Manchester . This role is crucial for providing essential financial insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and the preparation of management reports. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business recommendations, contributing to the company's financial strategy and operational efficiency from their Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Conduct in-depth variance analysis, investigating discrepancies and providing explanations to stakeholders.
• Support departmental managers with financial planning and performance monitoring.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and systems.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA accountant with a strong foundation in management accounting principles.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis within a commercial setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to present financial information clearly.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet reporting deadlines in a busy Manchester finance team.
