Management Accountant

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly motivated Management Accountant to join their finance team in Sunderland . This role will focus on providing insightful management information to support business operations and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to contribute significantly to the financial health of the organisation in the Tyne and Wear region, working in a role that blends analytical rigour with business understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads.
• Analyse financial performance, identifying key trends and drivers of profitability.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for senior management.
• Assist with the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Contribute to process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
• Experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or business partnering.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and financial modelling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.
