About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Management Accountant to enhance their financial operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is integral to providing critical management information that supports strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and contributing to the financial strategy of the business. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and a keen eye for detail, working within a supportive team environment that values accuracy and insightful financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insightful variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for business improvement.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and management reporting dashboards.
- Support the financial appraisal of new projects and investments.
- Streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiency through automation and system enhancements.
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a minimum of 3 years' experience in management accounting.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling techniques.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
