Managing Engineer, Cloud Security Engineering

• Lead and develop an engineering team delivering cloud security controls as software products
• Hire, onboard, coach, manage performance, and support career development
• Set technical direction across the design, implementation, deployment, and production support of cloud security capabilities
• Provide hands-on leadership through architecture and design reviews, technical decisions, code reviews, and critical implementation work
• Own product reliability, performance, effectiveness, and continuous improvement in production
• Partner with Digital Product Managers, platform teams, engineering stakeholders, and security stakeholders
• Align roadmaps, priorities, dependencies, and delivery plans
• Build an engineering culture centered on test-driven development, pair programming, fast feedback, technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Translate complex cloud security needs into scalable solutions, reusable patterns, and automated capabilities
• Lead agile execution focused on delivery outcomes
• Develop and operate preventative, detective, and responsive cloud security controls integrated with platforms and developer workflows

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of professional software, cloud, platform, or security engineering experience
• Experience owning production systems delivering measurable reliability, performance, or security outcomes
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading and developing engineers through people leadership and hands-on technical guidance
• Deep experience securing cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Strong proficiency with Python, Bash, Terraform, and cloud-native automation tools
• Ability to translate security requirements and risks into scalable engineering solutions, reusable patterns, and automated controls
• Ability to lead complex engineering initiatives, manage cross-team dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes
• Experience designing or operating security controls embedded into CI/CD pipelines, developer workflows, or shared cloud platform services
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker and their security considerations
• Ability to influence technical decisions and drive adoption of secure patterns, standards, and reusable capabilities
• Success mentoring senior engineers and developing emerging technical leaders
• Understanding of security and operational measures used to evaluate engineering outcomes and guide priorities
