Manual / CNC Machinist
Biggleswade, Bedfordshire Day Shift Competitive Salary (DOE)
Actio Recruitment are assisting an established engineering company in Biggleswade with the recruitment of an experienced Manual / CNC Machinist to join their workshop team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served machinist who enjoys working on a varied workload, including small batch production, one-off components, and repair work across multiple industries.
The Role
You will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality precision components from engineering drawings and samples, as well as carrying out repair and refurbishment work on existing parts and assemblies.
The role involves operating a range of manual and CNC machinery, including:
Manual Lathes, Manual Milling Machines, XYZ Lathe and Mill, Manual Surface Grinder, Manual Slotting Machine and Manual Broaching Equipment
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be involved in projects from initial machining through to final inspection.
Key Responsibilities
* Manufacture one-off and small batch precision components.
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings, sketches, and samples.
* Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools.
* Carry out repair and refurbishment work to customer components.
* Ensure components are produced to required tolerances and quality standards.
* Conduct self-inspection using measuring equipment.
* Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a machining or toolroom environment.
* Strong manual machining skills.
* Experience with XYZ Proturn, XYZ Prototrak Mills or similar CNC controls would be advantageous.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience producing one-off and small batch components.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
