A leading manufacturing organisation in Belfast area is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to play a key role in introducing new products, improving manufacturing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment.
Your New Role
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for optimising production processes, improving product quality, reducing manufacturing costs, and supporting the successful introduction of new products into production. You will work closely with production, design, purchasing and quality teams to ensure manufacturing excellence across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of new products into manufacturing, including process development and technical documentation. Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, standard operating procedures, bills of materials and production routings. Design and support production tooling, jigs and fixtures to improve efficiency and quality. Provide technical support to production teams to improve quality, productivity and process performance. Support the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies. Conduct product testing and validation activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements. Drive engineering change activities and process improvements across manufacturing operations. Utilise continuous improvement tools and root cause analysis techniques to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost performance. Maintain accurate manufacturing data within ERP/MRP systems. Collaborate with suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to support production requirements. Support technical projects and product transfers across multiple manufacturing sites when required. What You'll Need to Succeed
Ideally you will have a Degree qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience within a manufacturing engineering environment. Experience using 3D CAD software and ERP/MRP systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including fabrication, assembly or production engineering. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. It would be great if you had experience with SolidWorks, Inventor or other CAD/CAM software and experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production technologies, although this is desirable.
