About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge production facility in Cambridge . This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with design and production teams to ensure that products are manufactured reliably and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for implementing advanced manufacturing technologies, playing a crucial role in the continuous improvement initiatives at our client's renowned Cambridge site.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and validate new manufacturing processes and production equipment.
- Improve existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including process flows, work instructions, and FMEAs.
- Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve output.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement projects using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a high-tech or complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and statistical process control (SPC) tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
