Manufacturing Engineer
Barnoldswick
12-Month Contract
£35 per hour
Outside IR35

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join an established engineering business on a 12-month contract based in Barnoldswick.
The successful candidate will provide manufacturing engineering support across aerospace manufacturing operations, focusing on process improvement, quality, new product introduction and the reduction of non-conformance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and improve manufacturing processes to achieve right-first-time production
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing launch activities
* Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T
* Create and implement PFMEAs and Control Plans
* Identify key process variables and opportunities for error proofing
* Support investigations into non-conformance and implement corrective actions
* Carry out root cause analysis using techniques such as 8D
* Analyse manufacturing and shop-floor data to identify process improvements
* Support FAIR, APQP and PPAP activities
* Work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers and other cross-functional teams
* Support process validation, inspection strategies and measurement methods
* Use SPC and other quality tools to monitor and improve manufacturing performance
Experience Required:
* Previous Manufacturing Engineering experience
* Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems
* Ability to read engineering and manufacturing drawings
* Good knowledge of GD&T, ideally ASME Y14.5
* Experience with PFMEA and Control Plans
* Knowledge of FAIR, APQP and PPAP
* Experience with root cause analysis and 8D problem solving
* Understanding of SPC and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
* Awareness of AS9100 and relevant ISO standards
* Experience with Minitab, SAP, Teamcenter, Windchill or similar systems would be advantageous
* Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
This is an on-site position in Barnoldswick and would suit a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong aerospace, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing background.
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £35 per hour
