Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Southampton . This role is central to optimising manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and refining production methods and systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and production layouts.
• Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.

Requirements

• Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and process optimisation techniques.
• Proficiency in CAD software and experience with manufacturing automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
