About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join their engineering team remotely, supporting their manufacturing efforts in the Leeds area. This position focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and reducing costs through the application of engineering principles and technologies. You will be crucial in designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to ensure the production of high-quality goods in a cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Analyze existing production methods and identify opportunities for improvement through automation, lean manufacturing, or other strategies.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Troubleshoot production issues, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new line installations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD software for tooling and fixture design, and process simulation.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting and communicate technical information clearly.
