About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their established operations in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This role is crucial for optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of manufacturing processes, from design and implementation to ongoing improvement and troubleshooting. This position requires a hands-on approach and direct collaboration with the production floor team to drive tangible results and support the company's commitment to manufacturing excellence within the Sunderland area.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify and eliminate inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
- Develop and implement process improvements and new manufacturing technologies.
- Design, implement, and validate production tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for this on-site role in Sunderland .
