About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join their production team in Plymouth . This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for optimizing production lines, improving product quality, and reducing manufacturing costs through the application of sound engineering principles. The ideal candidate will have a practical, hands-on approach and a strong understanding of manufacturing technologies and methodologies, contributing to the company's operational success in the Plymouth area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes to meet production targets for quality, cost, and delivery.
- Analyze production data to identify root causes of defects or inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Design and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures to enhance performance and reliability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation , including SOPs and work instructions.
- Collaborate with the quality team to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Support new product introductions by designing and validating manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and layout work.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
