Manufacturing Operations Director

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Manufacturing Operations Director to lead their production facilities in and around Edinburgh . This senior leadership position demands a visionary leader capable of driving operational excellence, managing large teams, and optimizing the entire manufacturing value chain. You will be responsible for P&L oversight, strategic planning, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality goods. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of global manufacturing trends and a proven ability to deliver results in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, supply chain, and logistics.
• Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Manage the departmental budget, controlling costs while ensuring optimal resource allocation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operational managers and staff.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement programs across all manufacturing functions using best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in senior manufacturing or operations management roles.
• Proven track record of P&L responsibility and achieving significant operational improvements.
• Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, and supply chain management principles.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
• Experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably in the Scottish industrial sector.
