About the Role
Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead their production facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . This leadership role is critical for driving operational excellence, managing production teams, and ensuring the efficient and safe output of high-quality manufactured goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, from raw material intake to finished product dispatch, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and team engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to influence and direct the operational strategy of a significant manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage all daily manufacturing operations, ensuring targets for volume, quality, and cost are met.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production efficiency, throughput, and resource allocation in Newcastle upon Tyne .
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and production staff, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Oversee the implementation of Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage the production budget, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations management.
- Demonstrated success in improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and managing operational costs.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing , Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory management systems.
