Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturer of precision components, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Process Engineer to enhance their production capabilities at their facility in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness of all manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing existing methods, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing best practices to meet production targets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a hands-on approach to problem-solving within a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
• Develop, implement, and document new manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Design and optimize workstation layouts and material flow to enhance productivity and safety.
• Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and Lean Manufacturing projects.
• Maintain and update process documentation, including SOPs and control plans.

Requirements

• Degree in Industrial Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or process engineering role.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
• Experience with CNC machining, assembly processes, or similar manufacturing technologies.
• Proficiency in CAD software for process layout and fixture design.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a practical, hands-on approach.
