Manufacturing Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their dedicated team based in Cardiff . This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our manufacturing lines. You will be responsible for optimizing production processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety. This is an on-site position that requires a hands-on approach, working closely with production staff, maintenance, and quality control teams to achieve operational excellence. You will be a key player in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, proposing and implementing solutions.
• Develop and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the engineering and production teams on new product introductions and process modifications.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping.
• Monitor and report on key production metrics, including output, yield, and cycle times.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and production environments.
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
