Manufacturing Technician - Automation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and hands-on Manufacturing Technician with a specialization in automation to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is essential for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the automated systems that drive their production lines. You will work closely with engineers and operators to ensure the reliability and efficiency of robotic and automated equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a demanding manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair automated manufacturing equipment, including robots and control systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues within automated systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all automated machinery to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on the integration and optimization of new automation technologies.
• Support production operators in the effective use of automated equipment.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades accurately.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Manufacturing Technician or similar role, with a focus on automation.
• Strong understanding of PLC controls, robotics, and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repair of automated machinery.
• A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in a related field.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with a strong safety focus.
