Marine Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for new marine vessels, including power generation, distribution, and control.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems onboard ships.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs of marine electrical systems and components.
• Ensure all electrical installations meet relevant maritime regulations (e.g., DNV, Lloyd's Register).
• Liaise with naval architects, shipbuilders, and classification societies on electrical design and compliance matters.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in marine applications.
• Significant experience in marine electrical engineering, with a strong understanding of maritime power systems.
• Familiarity with marine electrical codes, standards, and classification society rules.
• Experience with navigation and communication systems integration is a plus.
• Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a challenging maritime environment.
