We are looking for experienced and commercially driven Marketplace Partnerships & Growth Leads to join a rapidly expanding e-commerce marketplace business.

With significant growth plans underway, multiple opportunities are available within the Marketplace team. This is an exciting time to join the business and play a key role in expanding the seller network, strengthening marketplace propositions and driving continued commercial growth.

This is a senior commercial role focused on identifying, attracting and onboarding high-quality sellers, developing strategic partnerships and expanding marketplace assortment across priority categories.

You will combine business development, seller acquisition, marketplace strategy, commercial negotiation and team leadership, working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to drive sustainable marketplace growth.

Role Overview

As Marketplace Partnerships & Growth Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing seller acquisition strategies that support marketplace growth and long-term commercial objectives.

You will identify prospective sellers and strategic opportunities, build and manage a strong acquisition pipeline, negotiate commercial relationships and oversee sellers through the onboarding journey.

Working closely with the wider Marketplace team, you will ensure new sellers are aligned with marketplace standards, customer expectations and category strategy, while establishing the foundations for long-term seller success.

You will also lead and support team members responsible for new seller onboarding, helping to build effective processes, develop capability and continuously improve the seller acquisition and onboarding experience.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Identifying and recruiting new sellers across priority and growth categories in line with marketplace strategy.

• Developing and executing seller acquisition strategies to achieve growth and commercial targets.

• Leading seller acquisition initiatives from initial prospecting through to successful onboarding. Building and managing a robust pipeline of prospective sellers, tracking progress from first contact through to launch.

• Conducting market, competitor and category analysis to identify commercial opportunities, trends and gaps in marketplace assortment. Working closely with senior Marketplace stakeholders to identify target categories, seller segments and areas with significant growth potential.

• Assessing prospective sellers based on commercial potential, product suitability, customer proposition and marketplace requirements.

• Conducting seller vetting, due diligence and internal compliance checks.

• Ensuring legal, regulatory and marketplace compliance requirements are met throughout the seller acquisition and onboarding process. Developing compelling value propositions and commercial pitches tailored to prospective sellers.

• Managing the full sales cycle, including lead generation, outreach, presentations, negotiation and contract closure. Building strong, long-term relationships with prospective and newly onboarded sellers.

• Providing guidance and support to sellers during the initial 4–6 month introductory period. Supporting new sellers to successfully establish their operations, product ranges and marketplace presence.

• Managing product onboarding processes to ensure accurate, complete and timely product listings.

• Ensuring sellers are prepared for a successful transition into the Seller Account Management team. Working with Account Management to communicate key seller information, opportunities, risks and performance indicators.

• Representing the marketplace at trade shows, industry events, webinars and other relevant commercial opportunities. Delivering seller presentations, training and onboarding sessions to support successful marketplace integration.

• Tracking and reporting key performance indicators, including seller acquisition, onboarding progress, seller performance and revenue generated from new accounts. Producing and analysing commercial reports to support decision-making and marketplace strategy.

• Working with Marketing to develop campaigns, materials and launch activity that support seller acquisition and new seller growth.

• Using Zendesk and other relevant systems to manage and resolve seller enquiries effectively. Working collaboratively with teams across Marketing, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Technology and Seller Account Management.

• Identifying opportunities to improve seller acquisition, onboarding and operational processes. Leading and managing team members, providing coaching, mentorship, performance support and professional development.

• Ensuring robust processes are in place across the team to deliver a consistent and effective seller onboarding experience. Continuously reviewing and refining processes in response to marketplace growth and changing business requirements.

Essential & Desirable Skills

We are looking for someone with:

• 3–5+ years' experience in business development, sales, partnerships or seller acquisition, ideally within an e-commerce marketplace, digital platform or online retail environment. Proven experience in seller acquisition, partnership development or marketplace growth.

• Strong understanding of seller and product compliance requirements. Proven ability to identify, develop and convert commercial opportunities. Strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in retail, e-commerce and online selling.

• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing and negotiation skills.

• Confidence pitching commercial propositions to a wide range of sellers and business owners. Experience managing a sales or acquisition pipeline and working towards measurable targets.

• Experience with seller onboarding and marketplace ecosystems. Experience using Mirakl Marketplace or a similar marketplace platform would be advantageous.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use insight to support commercial decisions. Confidence using Microsoft Excel, including formulas, graphs and data analysis. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience working collaboratively across commercial, operational and technical teams.

• Previous experience managing, coaching or developing team members.

• A professional, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

• High attention to detail and strong administrative capability.
