You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment by selecting appropriate materials, developing corrosion prevention strategies, and investigating material failures. Key Responsibilities
- Select appropriate materials for equipment and infrastructure, considering service conditions and environmental factors.
- Develop and implement corrosion monitoring and mitigation strategies.
- Perform failure analysis on components to determine root causes of degradation or failure.
- Provide technical support on material-related issues to engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
- Stay current with advancements in materials science and engineering relevant to the oil and gas industry .
- Contribute to the development of material specifications and standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in materials engineering, with significant exposure to the oil and gas sector .
- Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms, material degradation, and failure analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant material standards and codes (e.g., API, NACE).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
