Materials Handler

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and organized Materials Handler to manage the flow of materials within their manufacturing facility in Cambridge . This role is crucial for ensuring that production lines have the necessary components and that finished goods are stored and dispatched efficiently. You will be responsible for receiving, stocking, picking, and transporting materials using appropriate equipment. This is a vital support role for individuals who are physically fit, have a strong sense of organization, and wish to contribute to the smooth operation of a busy production environment, working within a team dedicated to efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and components.
• Accurately pick and stage materials required for production orders.
• Transport materials to and from production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and proper record-keeping.
• Ensure that all materials are stored safely and according to regulations.
• Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Materials Handler , warehouse operative, or similar role.
• Valid forklift license and experience operating material handling equipment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines.
