About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and compassionate Maternity Nurse to provide professional support to new parents and their newborns in the Plymouth area. This role focuses on assisting families in the crucial early weeks and months after birth, offering guidance on infant care, feeding, sleep, and parental well-being. You will work in the family's home, providing practical support and building confidence in new parents. This is a contract position for individuals with a deep understanding of newborn care and a sensitive approach to supporting families through this significant life transition. Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice and hands-on support with infant feeding (breastfeeding, bottle-feeding).
• Assist with establishing healthy sleep routines for newborns.
• Offer guidance on general infant care, including bathing, changing, and soothing techniques.
• Support the mother's physical and emotional recovery post-birth.
• Educate parents on newborn development and safety.

Requirements

• Certified Maternity Nurse qualification or equivalent extensive experience (e.g., Registered Nurse with Neonatal experience).
• Demonstrable experience working with newborns and their families.
• In-depth knowledge of infant sleep patterns, feeding methods, and development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and discretion.
• Ability to work independently and provide a high level of professional service.
