Supply Desk is looking for a dedicated English & Maths Intervention Teacher to join a secondary school in Portsmouth.

You'll work with small groups of students who require additional academic and pastoral support, helping them rebuild confidence, strengthen their core English and Maths skills and re-engage with education.

This role would suit a teacher who is confident managing challenging behaviour and passionate about helping students who may have struggled in mainstream classrooms.

The role

Teach English and Maths to small groups Deliver targeted intervention across KS3/KS4 Adapt learning to individual needs Support students with SEND, SEMH and barriers to learning Create a calm, structured learning environment Build positive relationships with students Support behaviour regulation and positive learning habits Track progress and celebrate achievements Work alongside pastoral and SEND teams We're looking for:

QTS or relevant teaching experience Confidence teaching English and Maths at KS3/KS4 Experience in intervention, alternative provision or SEND is desirable Strong behaviour management skills A patient, resilient and adaptable approach Excellent relationship-building skills A genuine commitment to helping young people re-engage with learning What's on offer?
