Mechanic - Light Vehicle

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and dedicated Mechanic specializing in Light Vehicles to join their well-established garage in Plymouth . You will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a diverse range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. This role requires a solid understanding of automotive systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering reliable repairs. We are looking for a hands-on professional who takes pride in their work and contributes to a positive and efficient workshop environment, ensuring customer vehicles are returned in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles.
• Conduct pre-MOT checks and prepare vehicles for their inspections.
• Utilise diagnostic equipment to identify issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed on customer vehicles.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience working as a Mechanic on light vehicles.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UK driving licence and a strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
