Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager
Dagenham, RM10 7FN | Permanent, full time | Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week in the office | Up to £70,000
You'll lead M&E capital works projects for BD Group's own programme, working across the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham's housing, corporate property and regeneration schemes, plus third-party clients - from feasibility and design through to construction, commissioning and handover.

We provide facilities, construction and property services across London and the Southeast. Our Capital Works team delivers projects across housing, corporate property and regeneration assets.
The job
You’ll manage project scope, programme, budget, quality and risk across the full M&E project lifecycle, coordinating consultants, contractors and client representatives. That includes providing M&E technical input into feasibility and business cases, developing scopes and specifications for tender, reviewing contractor proposals and technical submissions, and overseeing commissioning, testing and handover - including O&M manuals, as-built information and asset data. You’ll work closely with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, and you’re accountable for compliance with Building Regulations, CDM, fire safety, electrical safety and gas safety throughout.
What you'll need
- HNC/HND, degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Project Management or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering M&E projects in capital works, construction, housing, property or asset management
- Experience managing projects from concept and design through to construction, commissioning and handover
- Strong experience managing programmes, budgets, risk and contractor performance
- Strong understanding of M&E design, installation, commissioning and building services systems
- Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements relating to M&E works
Desirable
- Experience in occupied residential, operational or public-sector environments; decarbonisation, retrofit, plant replacement or Net Zero project experience
- Membership or progress towards CIBSE, IET, CIOB, APM or RICS
- PRINCE2, APM PMQ, IOSH, NEBOSH or SMSTS.
