Mechanical Design Engineer - Aerospace

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for aerospace innovation to join their esteemed team in Bradford . This role is focused on the design and development of critical mechanical components and systems for next-generation aircraft and space applications. You will engage in challenging projects that require precision engineering, advanced materials knowledge, and a deep understanding of aerospace standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace applications using CAD and FEA tools .
• Develop detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100 ).
• Collaborate with stress engineers, materials specialists, and manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity and manufacturability.
• Perform kinematic and dynamic analysis for moving mechanical assemblies.
• Support the testing and qualification of flight hardware, documenting all results meticulously.
• Contribute to design reviews and provide technical recommendations for design improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in aerospace mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Nastran).
• Understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, composite layup), and failure modes.
• Familiarity with aerospace regulatory requirements and quality standards.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
