Our client is seeking a meticulous and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in the aerospace sector to join their team in Plymouth . This role is crucial for the design, development, and integration of complex mechanical systems for aerospace applications, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards for safety and performance. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for aerospace applications using advanced CAD tools.
- Perform detailed engineering analysis, including structural integrity, thermal management, and vibration analysis.
- Create precise engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation compliant with aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are producible and meet stringent quality requirements.
- Support testing and validation activities, including the preparation of test plans and analysis of results.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement modifications to improve performance and reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with specific experience in the aerospace industry .
- Expertise in 3D CAD software such as CATIA or NX , and familiarity with FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant industry regulations.
- Experience with aerospace systems integration and qualification processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
