Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive applications using advanced CAD tools.
- Conduct FEA analysis for stress, thermal, and vibration performance to ensure product integrity.
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective.
- Perform validation testing and analysis of prototypes and production parts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the mechanical design team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a focus on the automotive industry .
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA V5 ).
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools (FEA).
- Knowledge of automotive standards and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment in Portsmouth .
