Job Description
Senior Mechanical MEP Design Engineer – London – £70,000
An established building-services team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to deliver technically challenging MEP projects across London, taking responsibility for designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
The Role
*
Lead mechanical building-services design across multiple project stages.
*
Develop mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design.
*
Produce heating, cooling and ventilation strategies.
*
Undertake heat-loss, heat-gain and equipment sizing calculations.
*
Develop domestic water and public health systems where required.
*
Produce technical drawings, schematics and specifications.
*
Design systems in accordance with current regulations and standards.
*
Develop coordinated designs using Revit MEP.
*
Work closely with electrical and public health design teams.
*
Coordinate designs with architects and structural engineers.
*
Attend design and coordination meetings.
*
Provide technical support to junior engineers and technicians.
*
Review drawings and technical documentation.
*
Resolve design issues and respond to technical queries.
*
Liaise directly with clients and project stakeholders.
*
Assist with surveys and site inspections.
*
Support project delivery through construction.
*
Review contractor and subcontractor proposals.
*
Assist with technical reports and specifications.
*
Contribute to design reviews and value engineering.
*
Manage your own workload and project deadlines.
Requirements
*
Strong mechanical building-services design experience.
*
Experience working on UK MEP projects.
*
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building-services principles.
*
Competent with Revit MEP and relevant design software.
*
Ability to produce and review engineering calculations.
*
Strong communication and coordination skills.
*
Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services preferred.
Location: London Salary: £70,000 per annum
