Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team, contributing to projects based out of Portsmouth . This role is crucial for the conceptualization, design, and refinement of mechanical components and systems that are central to the company's product innovation. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using advanced CAD software , ensuring adherence to technical specifications and performance requirements.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs and predict performance.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, such as 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate closely with remote manufacturing engineers and external suppliers to ensure designs are optimized for production and cost-effectiveness.
• Participate in virtual design reviews, offering insights and contributing to the iterative design process.
• Troubleshoot design-related issues and propose practical solutions to enhance product reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical design and product development, with a portfolio of relevant projects.
• Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo).
• Solid understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to approach complex problems systematically.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for effective remote collaboration .
