Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a talented and self-driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding, fully remote team. This position allows you to contribute to innovative product development from the comfort of your own home, supporting projects across the UK, including for teams near Nottingham . You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical components and systems, working collaboratively with virtual colleagues. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products using CAD software.
• Conduct necessary engineering calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and performance.
• Prepare detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Collaborate effectively with a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists via virtual communication tools.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and verification processes, providing remote technical assistance.
• Actively participate in design reviews and contribute to improving design processes and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and basic FEA analysis .
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
