Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established team in Liverpool . This role focuses on the detailed design and development of mechanical components and systems for a range of industrial applications. You will be involved in the entire design process, from initial concept generation through to final production support. The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude for problem-solving and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for components and assemblies using CAD software .
• Create technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) according to industry standards.
• Conduct design validation through calculations and basic simulation where appropriate.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective.
• Support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and CAD.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks) and basic understanding of 2D drafting.
• Good understanding of common manufacturing processes like machining and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple design tasks.
