Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leader in automotive component manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering department in Coventry . You will play a key role in the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative automotive parts and systems. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for new automotive components using CAD software.
• Perform stress analysis , thermal simulations, and other engineering calculations to validate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for mass production.
• Conduct prototype testing and analysis, documenting results and recommending design modifications.
• Support the engineering team in resolving design-related issues and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Research and evaluate new materials and technologies to enhance product performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as CATIA or SolidWorks, and associated analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, stamping, and machining.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
