Job Description
Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys seeing your designs come to life? Do you thrive in a hands-on engineering environment where you'll be involved from concept through to manufacture? We are recruiting for a well-established engineering manufacturer in the Wolverhampton area who is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on bespoke engineering projects, supporting customers from initial specification through to successful delivery. The RoleWorking as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be responsible for producing innovative design solutions, creating detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials, and supporting projects throughout the manufacturing process. You'll also contribute to new product development and the ongoing improvement of existing products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs according to customer specifications. Produce 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SOLIDWORKS Undertake and review Structural Engineering Analysis (SEA), stress calculations and design validation activities to ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs). Provide technical support to sales, procurement and manufacturing teams. Support products through build, testing and completion. Contribute to product development and continuous improvement projects. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. About You
HNC qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. Strong 2D and 3D CAD design experience, ideally with SOLIDWORKS. 5 years minimum experience working within manufacturing, heavy engineering, machinery, vehicles or related sectors. Experience designing fabricated steel structures, commercial vehicles, lifting equipment, material handling equipment or other heavy engineering products would be highly advantageous. Organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple projects. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.What's on Offer?
