Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their thriving team in Southampton . Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
• Perform basic stress analysis and thermal calculations to support design decisions.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to resolve production issues and optimize designs for efficient assembly.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating suggestions.
• Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes, documenting results and proposing improvements.

  Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
• Understanding of basic engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid setting.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues in Southampton .
