About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic product development team in Milton Keynes . This role is hybrid, blending on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing new mechanical components and systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance, safety, and cost requirements. Working within a collaborative environment, you will contribute to the entire product lifecycle, from initial design through to prototyping and testing. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative engineer to make a significant impact on cutting-edge product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using 3D CAD software.
- Conduct stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to project timelines.
- Investigate and troubleshoot design-related issues during prototyping and production phases.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles.
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
