Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established engineering department in Wolverhampton . This role focuses on the design and development of innovative mechanical solutions for a variety of industrial applications. You will be involved in the entire product development cycle, from concept generation through to detailed design and production support. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to exciting projects within the manufacturing sector in the West Midlands, working with a dedicated team focused on delivering high-performance products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD software .
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to ensure designs meet performance and safety requirements.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective.
• Conduct prototype testing and analysis, identifying and resolving design issues.
• Support the continuous improvement of existing product lines through design modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and basic FEA.
• Good understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
