About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Coventry . In this role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative mechanical components and systems that meet stringent performance and quality requirements. You will work on a variety of exciting projects, contributing to advancements in (mention a specific industry if applicable, e.g., automotive, aerospace, industrial machinery). Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D models and detailed 2D drawings for new mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD software.
- Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and supply chain partners to oversee component sourcing and production.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testing to ensure product integrity and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during prototyping, testing, or production phases.
- Research and evaluate new materials and technologies to enhance product design and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in mechanical product design or development.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or a similar high-end CAD package.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Strong grasp of thermodynamics , fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics principles.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
