About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and creative Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your design expertise from anywhere in the UK, contributing to the conceptualization and creation of cutting-edge products. You will be responsible for the entire design lifecycle, from initial concept and detailed design through to prototyping and testing, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, and aesthetic appeal. This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives on tackling complex design challenges and delivering high-quality mechanical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
- Conduct feasibility studies, stress analysis, and simulations to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, electrical engineering, and product management, to ensure design requirements are met.
- Oversee prototyping and testing phases, identifying and resolving design issues.
- Research and recommend new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software and engineering analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
- Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles .
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple design projects concurrently in a remote setting.
