Our client is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer specializing in energy systems to join their innovative research and development team in Norwich . This role is integral to the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge energy solutions, including renewable energy technologies and efficient power generation systems. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for energy generation, storage, and distribution.
- Conduct detailed thermodynamic and fluid dynamic analyses to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including 3D models , P&IDs, and manufacturing drawings.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and control systems specialists to integrate mechanical designs into complete energy solutions.
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of prototypes, analyzing performance data and recommending improvements.
- Stay current with advancements in energy technologies and contribute to R&D initiatives in Norwich .
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in energy systems or thermodynamics.
- 3-5 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical systems, preferably within the energy sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
- Strong understanding of energy conversion principles, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, biomass) or conventional power generation.
