Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and creative Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding product development team based in Cardiff . You will play a crucial role in the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept generation and design through to prototyping, testing, and eventual manufacturing. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software , ensuring adherence to project specifications and performance requirements.
• Conduct thorough tolerance analysis and preliminary design validation through calculations and simulations.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing and testing teams to oversee prototyping, establish testing procedures, and resolve design-related issues.
• Support the continuous improvement of existing products by identifying and implementing design enhancements.
• Contribute to technical documentation and project reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency with at least one major 3D CAD package (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Understanding of common manufacturing processes and materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
