Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their dedicated product development team based in Reading . This role involves contributing to the entire lifecycle of new products, from initial ideation and design through to testing and validation. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to bring innovative mechanical solutions to market, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems for new product introductions.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software .
• Conduct performance analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration testing, to validate designs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for efficient production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues encountered during development and testing phases.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of product designs and development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and related engineering analysis tools.
• Good understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and product testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
